SAFETY FAQS RELATED TO COVID-19
What measures are employees taking to reduce the risk of virus exposure?
Will members be required to wear a facemask at all times in the gym?
As of 6/15/2021: masks are no longer required in the gym or in class for those who are vaccinated. We will not require proof of vaccination, but we are still recommending/asking that unvaccinated people still wear a mask. The CDC has these guidelines for unvaccinated people, which is why we are hoping you follow these guidelines to keep everyone safe.
If you are still uncomfortable with not wearing a mask, you can of course still continue to wear one. Outdoor classes will still be available in addition to giving people plenty of space.
The most important thing to us is that our clients continue to be safe and healthy.
Will I keep my current membership package when we do open?
How will you enforce distance inside the gym?
Also, all classes, PTS, and Open gym must be reserved in advance to accommodate limited gym space and smaller class capacities; there are no walk-ins at this time.
Will you limit class sizes?
Will you still have mitt work?
For now, we will not be having mitt work in classes. As time progresses we hope to add it back in. As for private training, YES mitt work will be allowed between trainers and clients. If you want to work on mitt work, contact us about a PT session (these can be 30-60mins long) .

Don’t worry, we got you! For your first time, hand wraps are $5 and gloves are $79. Both are yours to keep!

Monday/Wednesday/Friday – 10am – 2pm
Tuesday/Thursday – 9am – 2pm
Monday – Friday – 4pm – 8pm
Saturday – 10:30am – 2:30pm
How Does Open Gym Work?
- Show up to our Santa Monica location during the open gym hours listed above.
- Check-in & pay at the front desk.
- Grab the equipment you want to use.
- Sweat your ass off.
- Drop equipment off back inside to be disinfected.
- Take on the rest of your day in a better mood.

What is your membership policy?
There are NO membership contracts and NO registration or enrollment fees.

Do I need to 'get in shape' before I start your classes?
No. Group classes are for all – no matter your age or fitness level. A common misunderstanding is that you need to be ‘in shape’ before starting boxing fitness training. This is completely false. Our classes are designed to allow our attendees to train ‘at their own pace’ while at the same time, giving the advanced students the opportunity to challenge themselves.
What if I’ve never boxed in my life?
You don’t need to have ever boxed, we’ll teach you how to throw punches correctly and help you reach your fitness goals. Box ‘N Burn classes are high intensity, non-contact, and FUN!
Will I get hit in the face or body?
No. Classes are non-contact and non-combat – you’ll get lean and toned like a fighter (without ever having to fight!).
Will I have to spar with another person?
No. Our classes are non-contact and you work in a group setting or one-on-one with a certified trainer.
What are the BENEFITS of a boxing fitness class?
Boxing helps you burn fat and tone muscle in a short amount of time – you’ll gain a firm butt, a smaller waist, toned arms, and a lean sexy body.
Boxing fitness classes are a great cardiovascular workout for weight loss, stronger heart, and lungs, increased bone density, reduced stress, reduced risk of heart disease and some types of cancer, temporary relief from depression and anxiety, and better sleep.
Boxing releases aggression and manages your stress by getting your endorphins pumping.
You’ll be more confident about how you look and feel like a badass!
Do I need to register for my first class?
Just be sure to show up 10-15 minutes early so we can wrap your hands and explain the class structure to you.
What can I expect at a group class?
To have fun!
Class is a well-balanced workout consisting of boxing fitness, cardio training, and functional fitness. It is a full-body workout – legs, core, back, shoulders, and arms.
You’ll be doing conditioning drills like jumping jacks, sit-ups, and quick feet drills as well as fundamental boxing including ring and bag work.
Before class begins we’ll wrap your hands to protect them and get you in a pair of real boxing gloves.
How many people are in a group class?
Classes will range between 12-32 people. The larger the class, the more instructors to help out.
In order to keep the quality of the classes high and maintain a healthy trainer-to-member ratio, we have capped each location. Santa Monica is capped at 36 members and Brentwood is capped at 28 members.
Will there be other beginners in my class?
Absolutely. There are always beginners in class. Plus, the advanced students are always eager to help you get you on your way.
How long do the classes last?
Our classes last approximately 60 minutes.
How many classes per week should I attend?
We have classes 7 days a week so the amount of classes you take is based on your own personal schedule. Most of our members train about 1-3 times per week and see great results.
Class Info You Should Know:
Running late? Please call ahead and let us know, otherwise, your reservation may be given away.
Please double check that you have reserved the correct time and location, otherwise, you are subject to the Late Cancellation Fee.
Anybody under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for their first session to sign a liability waiver, otherwise, you may not join the class.
Cancellation Agreement: We have limited space in our classes and they are designed dependent upon the number of members per class. If you book a class or private training session & cannot make it, please cancel at least 10 hours in advance as a courtesy to our trainers and other members who may want to book the class.
‘LATE CANCELLATIONS’ or ‘NO SHOWS’ limit our ability to fill reservations. Unfortunately, you will lose a class if you’re on a class package, or you will incur a $12 fee if you have a membership. However; if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms please call the front desk and we will happily help sort it out for you. Cancellations can be made via the Box ‘N Burn App, MindBody Online or by telephone. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your understanding.
