Do I need to 'get in shape' before I start your classes?
No. Group classes are for all - no matter your age or fitness level. A common misunderstanding is that you need to be 'in shape' before starting boxing fitness training. This is completely false. Our classes are designed to allow our attendees to train 'at their own pace' while at the same time, giving the advanced students the opportunity to challenge themselves.
What if I’ve never boxed in my life?
You don't need to have ever boxed, we'll teach you how to throw punches correctly and help you reach your fitness goals. Box 'N Burn classes are high intensity, non-contact, and FUN!

Will I get hit in the face or body?
No. Classes are non-contact and non-combat - you'll get lean and toned like a fighter (without ever having to fight!).
Will I have to spar with another person?
No. Our classes are non-contact and you work in a group setting or one-on-one with a certified trainer.
What are the BENEFITS of a boxing fitness class?

What types of non-boxing exercise equipment do you have?
Both gyms have a complete range of strength, cross-training & cardio equipment including kettlebells, battle ropes, weights, resistance bands, medicine balls, free-weights, and more.
Do I need to register for my first class?

Just be sure to show up 10-15 minutes early so we can wrap your hands and explain the class structure to you.
What can I expect at a group class?
To have fun! Class is a well-balanced workout consisting of boxing fitness, cardio training and functional fitness. It is a full body workout - legs, core, back, shoulders, and arms.
You'll be doing conditioning drills like jumping jacks, sit ups, and quick feet drills as well as fundamental boxing including ring and bag work.
Before class begins we'll wrap your hands to protect them and get you in a pair of real boxing gloves.
How many people are in a group class?
Classes will range between 12-32 people. The larger the class, the more instructors to help out.
In order to keep the quality of the classes high and maintain a healthy trainer-to-member ratio, we have capped each location. Santa Monica is capped at 36 members and Brentwood is capped at 28 members.
Will there be other beginners in my class?
Absolutely. There are always beginners in class. Plus, the advanced students are always eager to help you get you on your way.
How many classes per week should I attend?
We have classes 7 days a week so the amount of classes you take is based on your own personal schedule. Most of our members train about 1-3 times per week and see great results.
How long do the classes last?
Our classes last approximately 60 minutes.
What is the minimum and maximum age to take classes?
Minimum age to attend the adult group class is 14 years of age there is no maximum age limit, in fact we have attendees in their 70s.
Do you have kids classes?

A parent or guardian must be present to sign a waiver for anyone under the age of 18.
Can pregnant women attend the classes?
Absolutely, as long as your doctor has no health concerns and you feel physically up to it.
Will you help me with my nutritional habits?
Yes. Not only do we cover nutrition tips in class, you can schedule a personal appointment with an instructor to cover your specific questions.
What happens if I can't make a class I've signed up for?
If you sign up for a class and can't make it, don't worry! You have a 10-hour window to cancel. If you don't cancel in time, you will be charged a $12 cancellation fee (for unlimited members) or lose a class (for 3 pack/5 pack/10 pack/30 pack and 50 pack members).
Do you have free parking available?
Santa Monica: Free parking is available around the north side and back (west side) of the building. Please only park in spaces with the “BNB” parking signs before 5:30PM.
Brentwood: The building has a parking structure with valet parking. Bring your ticket to class and we will validate it for you (90 MINUTES FREE). We include a tip so you don’t have to pay anything.
Do I need to bring my own wraps and gloves to class?
We have gloves that you can rent during classes.
We do ask that you bring your own pair of wraps for classes, we sell them here at the gym or you can purchase them elsewhere. If you purchase them elsewhere, we recommend purchasing a pair that is 180" long and has a bit of elastic in it. If you have any questions about purchasing wraps, please give us a call at either gym location.
If it is your first class, wraps are $5 to purchase and yours to keep at the end of class (gloves are free to rent for your first class).
Do you have showers?
Santa Monica: Unfortunately no, just restrooms.
Brentwood: Yes. We have locker rooms equipped with towels, showers, and lockers.

Can I cancel my recurring membership online?
Yes, you can cancel your membership online, anytime.
To do so, follow the steps outlined below.
1. Log into your Box 'N Burn Account.
2. Click on the 'My Info' tab
3. Click on 'Account'
4. Scroll down to 'Autopays' at the bottom and select 'Terminate'
5. When the pop-up appears, select 'OK'
6. Under Autopays, it should now say 'Terminated' next to your membership.
